In the area where I live, movement is unrestricted but motorized transport is strictly regulated. The logging company that owns the forest has constructed really an awful lot of roads, no point in the forest is more than one km from one. But you need a special permit to drive there, so traffic is low.
Interestingly, skiers are never informed by signs if they are about to cross a logging road. Only drivers of vehicles know when ski tracks cross the thoroughfares for motorized transport.
I have some signs with "Dog Sled X-ing " from Alaska and each winter I fantasize about putting them up at appropriate places, but I always end up thinking I had better keep a low profile instead.
