Above are my sleds. A toboggan with an aluminum frame (left) and a conventional basket sled made of birch.
The flat-bottomed toboggan is by far the better one in most circumstances, especially when there's any amount of loose snow. I'm not really sure what the ideal circumstances would be for the basket sled.
As with my bicycles, my sleds rarely have all the parts they need, as I often cannibalize one to feed the other. Right now, though, they actually both work fine. But now I no longer have enough dogs for two teams.
